Quick Questions with Queen Hermione

In this series of quick questions, we want you to QUICKLY (see what I did there? (o: Okay, never mind . . . . ) get to know our cast for the Shake-in-a-Day Series. This fantastically fun set of individuals will be joining us January 14th, 2017 at the Westbeth Community Arts Room (55 Bethune Street in NYC) for a one-night only Shakespeare event. Don't miss it!

We're just one day away from the show, which means we only have a few more actors to introduce you to. This time, we'd like you to meet the heroic Queen Hermione, this time being played by Kaitlyn Farley. Kaitlyn is no stranger to playing Queens. This summer she toured with HSC's June show, Richard II as the faithful and adoring Queen Isabel. She also was part of the all-female 'Martyr'd Signs' cast (a Titus Andronicus adaptation). After a brief, but busy hiatus, we are thrilled to welcome Kaitlyn back in this glorious role. Kaitlyn is a beautiful spirit and lovely actress and we know she will be absolutely stunning in this role. We mean it - DON'T MISS IT!

Q: What's your favorite activity to do in the Winter?

KAITLYN: This Canadian played hockey growing up, so my favorite activity is ice skating. Whether its on a pond or outdoor rink, a pick up game is great fun but so it just skating around, especially while it's snowing. Plus it's always a great excuse for spiked cocoa. Did I say spiked? I meant... alcoholic, alcoholic cocoa ;)

Q: What's something unique about you?

KAITLYN: A lot of people are surprised by it, since my inherent musical theatre vibe is quite obvious, but I am an advanced actor combatant with Art of Combat International and have been studying and training combat for stage and screen diligently for the past 3 1/2 years now.

Q: What animal would you want your exit to be pursued by in your own Winter's Tale?

KAITLYN: I would choose to be pursued by a snowy owl. (Not juuust because of Harry Potter -- represent!) but I've always loved Owls. They can be magical and mysterious, they've got that wise thing going on, but they're also watchers, very intuitive and protective and can be very fierce, whilst maintaining their beauteous elegance. Then they tilt their heads and my reaction can't help but be... Awww!
